Quan la flor del sol, la rosa de Lahor, amb la seva flairosa ànima ha omplert gota a gota el flascó d’argila o de cristall o d’or, damunt la sorra que abrusa, hom pot espargir-la tota. Els rius i la mar inundarien debades aquest estret santuari que la manté reclosa: tot trencant-se serva el seu aroma diví, i la seva pols benaurada en resta perfumada. Puix que per la ferida oberta del meu cor t’escoles igualment, oh licor celestial, inexpressable amor que per ella m’inflamava! Que li sigui perdonat, que la meva pena sigui beneïda! Més enllà de l’hora humana i el temps infinit el meu cor resta perfumat d’una flaire immortal!
