Es liegt ein alter Mühlenstein
im Schatten einer Linde.
Der Müller hat ein Stelldichein
mit einem schönen, schönen Kind.

Die Rosen, die am kühlen Bach
in voller, voller Blüte steh'n,
die Tauben auf dem Mühlendach,
die haben es geseh'n.

Wenn nun die Tauben schlafen geh'n,
beginnen sie zu kosen,
und wenn die Abendlüfte weh'n,
dann küssen sich die Rosen.

a l’ombra d’un til·ler.
el moliner hi té una cita
amb una bella, bella criatura.

Les roses que prop del fresc rierol
estan en plena, plena florida,
els coloms a la teulada del molí,
ho han vist.

Ara, quan els coloms van a dormir
comencen a acaronar-se,
i quan bufa el vent del capvespre,
llavors es besen les roses.
