Hebt mich kein geneigter Wind,
lernt mein glücke niemals fliegen,
desto sichrer bleib' ich siegen;
denn, da ich niedrig bin, 
so stoss' ich nirgend an.
Wer in der tat schon liegt, der fürchtet keinen Fall
und wird zu keiner Zeit des unglücks leichter Ball,
der darum steigen muß, damit er fallen kann.

Fortunata povertà

Se nessun vento favorevole soffia per me,
la mia fortuna impara a non volare via,
quindi io resto sicuro di vincere;
perché, se non ho nulla da perdere,
nulla mi può danneggiare.
Infatti chi sta già a terra, non teme di cadere
e in nessun tempo sarà gioco della sorte avversa,
mentre chi deve salire, per questo può cadere.
