Und die Sonne scheint so golden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Und die Sonne scheint so golden,
Und die Erde ist so grün;
Über Berge, Flur und Auen
Möcht' ich frei und fröhlich zieh'n.
Und so herrlich blüh'n die Blumen
Dicht beperlt mit klarem Tau,
Und es blüht in Flur und Feldern,
Und der Himmel ist so blau!
Und die Vöglein sind so lustig,
Und so laut tönt ihr Gesang;
Ach, wie schön ist's auf der Erde,
Wenn man wandert frei und frank!
Ja, die Sonne scheint so golden,
Und die Erde ist so grün;
Über Berg' und Täler möcht' ich
Frisch und frei und fröhlich zieh'n.

And the sun shines with such gold
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
And the sun shines with such gold,
And the world is so green;
Over mountains, meadows, and leas
I would like to wander freely and happily.
And the flowers bloom so gloriously,
Thickly pearled with clear dew,
And the meadows and fields bloom,
And the sky is so blue!
And birdlets are so merry,
And their singing resounds so loudly;
Ah, how beautiful it is upon the earth
When one wanders freely and frankly!
Yes, the sun shines with such gold,
And the world is so green;
Over mountains and [through] valleys I would like
To wander briskly and freely and happily.
