De Mataró vàrem venir
Language: Catalan (Català)
Our translations:  ENG
De Mataró vàrem venir
per un dissabte a la tarda
i a Ribes vàrem anar,
que és camí ral de Cerdanya,
sols per veure una minyona
que és filla de molt bon pare,
sols per veure una minyona.

Té la boca de pinyó,
les dents molt fines i blanques,
té els llavis d'un viu color,
una rosa a cada galta,
té els llavis d'un viu color.
De Mataró vàrem venir,
per un dissabte a la tarda.

From Mataró we came
Language: English  after the Catalan (Català)
From Mataró we came
on a Saturday afternoon
and to Ribes we went,
which is the highroad to Cerdanya,
merely to see a maiden
daughter of a good father,
merely to see a maiden.

Her mouth is very small,
with fine, white teeth,
she has lips of a nice, bright colour,
and a rose on each cheek,
she has lips of a nice, bright colour.
From Mataró we came
on a Saturday afternoon.
