Korpen sidder på kirkeport
skriger så sårt [mod]1 kvæld.
Nu er det tomt, og nu er [det]2 tyst
over det [vide]3 fjeld.

Klokken ringer fra [kirketårn]4
udover øde sletter.
På korsene rider de hekse tre
og skriger i mørke nætter.

De danser over de tuer små
og leger med dødmands ben.
Så ler de høit i den tause kvæld
og hopper på gravenes sten.

Og korpen sidder på kirkeport,
og klokken den ringer mod kvæld.
Men ingen færdes vel længere nu
over det ødslige fjeld. -

Automne sur la lande

il pousse des cris perçants dans le soir. 
C'est l'heure où sur le [vaste champ]1
tout est vide, tout est silencieux.

La cloche sonne au clocher de l'église
au-dessus des plaines désertes.
Trois sorcières chevauchent des croix
et crient dans la nuit obscure.

Elles dansent sur les petits tertres
et jouent avec des os humains.
Puis elles rient aux éclats dans le silence du soir
et sautent sur les pierres tombales.

Et le corbeau se tient sur le portail de l'église,
et la cloche sonne dans le soir.
Mais plus personne ne voyage maintenant
sur le champ déserté.
