Le père se penche, respirant à peine, Et écoute le rêve de son enfant ; Il pense au temps passé Avec un bonheur mélancolique. Et une larme du fond de son cœur Tombe sur la bouche de son enfant : Vite, il embrasse la larme, Et berce doucement l'enfant vers le haut, vers le bas. Pour le monde tout entier Il ne donnerait pas son enfant chéri. Heureux tu seras en ce monde Si tu tiens ton bonheur ainsi dans tes bras !
