Song Cycle by Kristin De Smedt (b. 1959)

1. Der römische Brunnen  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Aufsteigt der Strahl und fallend gießt
Er voll der Marmorschalen Rund,
Die sich verschleiernd, überfließt
In einer zweiten Schale Grund;
Die zweite gibt, sie wird zu reich,
Der Dritten wallend ihre Flut,
Und jene nimmt und gibt zugleich,
Und strömt und ruht.

Text Authorship:

  • by Conrad Ferdinand Meyer (1825 - 1898), "Der römische Brunnen"

2. Zwei Segel  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Zwei Segel erhellend
Die tiefblaue Bucht!
Zwei Segel sich schwellend
Zu ruhiger Flucht!

Wie eins in den Winden
Sich wölbt und bewegt,
Wird auch das Empfinden
Des andern erregt.

Begehrt eins zu hasten,
Das andre geht schnell,
Verlangt eins zu rasten,
Ruht auch sein Gesell.

Text Authorship:

  • by Conrad Ferdinand Meyer (1825 - 1898), "Zwei Segel", appears in Gedichte, in 5. Liebe
