Zwei Segel
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations: CHI FRE
Zwei Segel erhellend
Die tiefblaue Bucht!
Zwei Segel sich schwellend
Zu ruhiger Flucht!
Wie eins in den Winden
Sich wölbt und bewegt,
Wird auch das Empfinden
Des andern erregt.
Begehrt eins zu hasten,
Das andre geht schnell,
Verlangt eins zu rasten,
Ruht auch sein Gesell.
Confirmed with Conrad Ferdinand Meyer, Gedichte, Leipzig: H. Haessel, 1882, page 150. Appears in 5. Liebe.

Deux voiles
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Deux voiles éclairant
Le bleu sombre de la baie !
Deux voiles se gonflant
Pour une fuite tranquille !
Comme l'une dans le vent,
Se courbe et s'agite,
Elle excite les sensations
De l'autre.
L'une désire se hâter
L'autre avance vite,
L'une demande une halte,
Sa compagne s'arrête aussi.
