Catalan (Català) translations of Lieder, opus 5

by Alban Maria Johannes Berg (1885 - 1935)

Return to the original list

1. Vielgeliebte schöne Frau
 (Sung text)
by Alban Maria Johannes Berg (1885 - 1935), "Vielgeliebte schöne Frau", op. 5 (Lieder) no. 1 (1902), published 1985 [ voice and piano ], from Jugendlieder, Vol. I (1901-04), no. 11
Language: German (Deutsch)
Spätherbstnebel, kalte Träume,
überfloren Berg und Tal,
Sturm entblättert schon die Bäume,
und sie schaun gespenstig kahl.

Nur ein einz'ger, traurig schweigsam
einz'ger Baum steht unentlaubt,
feucht von Wehmutstränen gleichsam,
schüttelt er sein grünes Haupt.

Ach, mein Herz gleicht dieser Wildnis,
und der Baum, den ich dort schau'
sommergrün, das ist dein Bildnis,
vielgeliebte schöne Frau.

1.
Language: Catalan (Català)
Boires de tardor tardana, i somnis freds,
omplen muntanyes i valls;

bella dona molt estimada.

2. Sehnsucht II
 (Sung text)
by Alban Maria Johannes Berg (1885 - 1935), "Sehnsucht II", op. 5 (Lieder) no. 2 (1902), published 1985? [ voice and piano ], from Jugendlieder, Vol. I (1901-04), no. 12
Language: German (Deutsch)
  Mir träumte: traurig schaute der Mond,
Und traurig schienen die Sterne;
Es trug mich zur Stadt, wo Liebchen wohnt,
Viel hundert Meilen ferne.

  Es hat mich zu ihrem Hause geführt,
Ich küßte die Steine der Treppe,
Die oft ihr kleiner Fuß berührt
Und ihres Kleides Schleppe.

  Die Nacht war lang, die Nacht war kalt,
Es waren so kalt die Steine;
Es lugt' aus dem Fenster die blasse Gestalt,
Beleuchtet vom Mondenscheine!

2. Melangia II
Language: Catalan (Català)
Vaig somniar: la lluna semblava trista,
i tristes semblaven les estrelles;
em vaig trobar en la ciutat on vivia l’estimada,
molts centenars de milles lluny.

Vaig arribar a la seva casa,
i vaig besar les pedres de l’escala,
que sovint varen tocar els seus peuets
i la cua del seu vestit.

La nit era llarga, la nit era freda,
molt fredes eren les pedres;
falsa era la pàl·lida faç a la finestra,
Il·luminada pel clar de lluna.
