Catalan (Català) translations of Sechs Lieder für vierstimmigen Männerchor, opus posth. 75

by Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847)

1. Der frohe Wandersmann
 (Sung text)
by Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847), "Der frohe Wandersmann", op. posth. 75 no. 1 (1844), published 1849, stanzas 1,3-4 [ four-part men's chorus ]
    Score: IMSLP [external link]
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wem Gott will rechte Gunst erweisen,
Den schickt er in die weite Welt,
Dem will er seine Wunder weisen
In Berg und Wald und Strom und Feld.

 ...

Die Bächlein von den Bergen springen,
Die Lerchen schwirren hoch vor Lust,
Was sollt' ich nicht mit ihnen singen
Aus voller Kehl' und frischer Brust?

Den lieben Gott laß ich nur walten;
Der Bächlein, Lerchen, Wald und Feld,
Und Erd' und Himmel will erhalten,
Hat auch mein Sach' aufs Best' bestellt.

1. L’alegre caminant
a ell l’envia a l’ampli món,
li vol mostrar les seves meravelles
a les muntanyes, boscos, rius i camps.

 ...

a plena veu i a plens pulmons?

2. Abendständchen
 (Sung text)
by Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847), "Abendständchen", op. posth. 75 no. 2 (1839), published 1849, stanzas 1,3,6 [ four-part men's chorus ]
    Score: IMSLP [external link]
Language: German (Deutsch)
Schlafe, Liebchen, weil's auf Erden
Nun so still und seltsam wird!
Oben gehn die goldnen Herden,
Für uns alle wacht der Hirt.

 ...

Schlingend sich an Bäum' und Zweigen
In Dein stilles Kämmerlein,
Wie auf goldnen Leitern, steigen
Diese Töne aus und ein.

 ...

Und der Töne Klang entführet
Weit der buhlerische Wind,
Und durch Schloß und Wand ihn spüret
Träumend wohl das süsse Kind.

2. Serenata vespral
Language: Catalan (Català)
Dorm, amor meu, mentre a la terra
ara tot esdevé tranquil i insòlit!
Allà dalt caminen les daurades ramades,
el pastor té cura de tots nosaltres.

 ...

Entrellaçant-se a arbres i branques,
dins la teva tranquil·la cambra,
pugen, com per escales daurades,
aquests sons, dins i fora.

 ...

Ai, seduït per el dolç so,
lluny, el vent amorós,
i a través de panys i parets el perceben,
somiant, tots els formosos infants.

3. Trinklied aus dem Divan  [sung text not yet checked]
by Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847), "Trinklied aus dem Divan", op. posth. 75 no. 3 (c1837), published 1849 [ four-part men's chorus ]
    Score: IMSLP [external link]
Language: German (Deutsch)
[Solang]1 man nüchtern ist,
Gefällt das Schlechte;
Wie man getrunken hat,
Weiß man das Rechte;
Nur ist das Übermaß
Auch gleich zuhanden:
Hafis, o lehre mich,
Wie du's verstanden!

Denn meine Meinung ist
Nicht übertrieben:
Wenn man nicht trinken kann,
Soll man nicht lieben;
Doch sollt ihr Trinker euch
Nicht besser dünken:
Wenn man nicht lieben kann,
Soll man nicht trinken.

3. Cançó de beure del Divan
Language: Catalan (Català)
Mentre un resta sobri,
li plau el que és dolent;
quan un ha begut
se sap el que és correcte;
però també l’excés
és a tocar de les mans:
Hafis, oh, ensenya’m
com ho entens això!

Car el meu parer
no és pas exagerat:
qui no pot beure
no hauria d’estimar;
però vosaltres bevedors
no ho podríeu pensar millor:
qui no pot estimar
no hauria de beure.

4. Abschiedstafel
 (Sung text)
by Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847), "Abschiedstafel", op. posth. 75 no. 4 (1838-44?), published 1849, stanzas 1-2,4 [ four-part men's chorus ]
    Score: IMSLP [external link]
Language: German (Deutsch)
So rückt denn in die Runde!
Es schleicht die Zeit im Dunkeln,
Sie soll uns rüstig finden
Und heiter, stark und gut!
Gar viel ist zu vollbringen,
Gar Vieles muß mißlingen.
So mag die letzte Stunde
Nachleuchten uns und funkeln!
Wo unsre Pfad' sich winden,
Wir sind in Gottes Hut.

Dem Bruder meines Lebens,
Der, fern, mit mir zusammen,
Ihm sei aus Herzensgrunde
Das voll Glas gebracht!
Ich brauch' ihn nicht zu nennen,
Er aber wird mich kennen.
Viel Land trennt uns vergebens,
Ihm soll dies Wort, die Stunde,
Durch alle Adern flammen,
Wie ich an Ihn gedacht!

 ...

Laß nie die Schmach mich sehen,
Daß auch Dein Herz, der Lüge
Des andern Volks zum Raube,
Feig werde, fremd und hohl!
Nicht wollen wir verzagen;
Nicht wahr ist, was sie sagen:
Daß Lieb' und Lust vergehen,
Nicht wahr, daß uns betrüge
Der schöne, freud'ge Glaube,
Und also lebet wohl!

alegres, forts i saludables!
Hi ha moltes coses a fer,
moltes han d’anar malament.
Per això, que la darrera hora
resplendeixi per a nosaltres!
Allà on els nostres camins es torcin

com he pensat en ell!

 ...
