De ontluikende dag is de beste, 
Laten wij het eeuwige graf vergeten.
Laat je duivenkusjes zingen 
Op je bloeiende lippen.

Een verborgen lelie verspreidt voortdurend       
Een goddelijke geur in je boezem;
Talloze geneugten straal je uit  
Jeugdige godin.

Ik houd van je en sterf, o mijn lief. 
Je kussen hebben mijn ziel meegevoerd!
O Lydia, geef mij het leven terug,
