L'orage
Language: French (Français)
  Dans sa course brûlante,
  Oh ! que la nuit est lente !
  De sa lueur tremblante
  Elle attriste l'amour.
  J'entends gronder l'orage ;
  Il trouble mon courage.
Ne reverront-ils pas le jour,
Mes yeux voilés de pleurs d'amour ?

  Délire où je me plonge,
  Fuyez, jaloux mensonge ;
  Pourquoi m'offrir en songe
  La douleur dans l'amour ?
  Ô moitié de mon âme,
  Tes yeux, remplis de flamme,
Reviendront-ils, avec le jour,
Tarir enfin mes pleurs d'amour !

  Mais la tardive aurore
  Ne brille pas encore,
  Et les yeux que j'adore
  Sont fermés à l'amour.
  L'orage en feu tourmente
  Et la nuit et l'amante :
Ô toi, pour qui j'attends le jour,
Me paîras-tu mes pleurs d'amour ?
