Neen, hef maar de blinkende beker, gevuld met wijn, En laat bij ’t roerige maal hen gelukkig zijn. Maar heb je het maal genoten, je dorst gelest, Ga dan weg uit het luide gezelschap, het joelende nest, En zoek in de tuin, net daarachter, de rozenstruik; Daar zal ik dan op je wachten, naar oud gebruik. En zal aan je borst dan zinken, jawel meteen, En weer je kussen drinken, als vaak voorheen. En vlechten weer in je haren, ja, rozenpracht. O kom, jij wonderbare verbeide nacht!
