Jung Volker, das ist unser Räuberhauptmann, Mit Fiedel und mit Flinte, Damit er geigen und schießen kann, Nach dem just Wetter und Winde. Fiedel und die Flint, Fiedel und die Flint! Volker spielt auf. Ich sah ihn hoch im Sonnenschein Auf einem Hügel sitzen: Da spielt er die Geig und schluckt roten Wein, seine blauen Augen ihm blitzen. Fiedel und die Flint, Fiedel und die Flint! Volker spielt auf. Auf einmal, er schleudert die Geig in die Luft, Auf einmal, er wirft sich zu Pferde: Der Feind kommt! Da stößt er ins Pfeifchen und ruft: "Brecht ein, wie der Wolf in die Herde!"
