Ach was soll ich beginnen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Ach was soll ich beginnen
Vor Liebe?
Ach, wie sie innig durchdringet
Mein Innres!
Siehe, Jüngling, das Kleinste
Vom Scheitel
Bis zur Sohl', ist dir einzig
Geweihet.
O Blumen! Blumen! verwelket,
Euch pfleget
Nur, bis sie Lieb' erkennet,
Die Seele.
Nichts will ich thun, wissen und haben,
Gedanken
Der Liebe, die mächtig mich faßte,
Nur tragen.
Immer sinn' ich, was ich aus Inbrunst
Wohl könne thun,
Doch zu sehr hält mich Liebe im Druck,
Nichts läßt sie zu.
Jetzt, da ich liebe, mögt' ich erst leben,
Und sterbe.
Jetzt, da ich liebe, mögt' ich hell brennen,
Und welke.
Wozu auch Blumen reihen und wässern?
Entblättert!
So sieht, wie mich Liebe entkräftet,
Sein Spähen.
Der Rose Wange will bleichen,
Auch meine.
Ihr Schmuck zerfällt, wie verscheinen
Die Kleider.
Ach Jüngling, da du mich erfreuest
Durch Treue,
Wie kann mich mit Schmerz so bestreuen
Die Freude?

Ach, wat moet ik beginnen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Ach, wat moet ik beginnen
Van liefde?
Ach, zij kon innig doordringen
Mijn binnenst'!
Kijk eens, jongen, elk deeltje
Van top tot
teen is jou, alleen jou toe -
genegen.
Alleen jou, jou enkel toegenegen.
O bloemen, bloemen, verwelk maar,
Mijn ziel geeft
Slechts tot zij liefde vindt, je
verzorging.
Niets wil ik doen, weten en hebben;
Gedachten
Van liefde, die mij overweldigen,
slechts koest'ren.
Steeds verzin ik, wat ik uit hartstocht
Zou kunnen doen,
Maar te zeer houdt mij liefde beklemd,
Niets laat zij toe.
Nu, nu ik liefheb, zou ik pas leven;
Ik sterf juist,
Nu, nu ik liefheb, kon ik fel vlammen;
Ik kwijn juist.
Waartoe ook bloemen schikken en drenken?
Ontblader maar!
Zo zien, hoe liefde mij ontreddert,
Zijn blikken.
De rozenwang zal verbleken,
Zo de mijne,
Haar pracht vervalt, zoals kleren
Verslijten.
Ach jongen, nu jij mij zo blij maakt
Door trouwheid,
Hoe lijd ik dan pijn en benauwdheid
Door vreugde?
