Heimwärts

Heimwärts zieh'n die munter'n Sänger
über Wald und Feld und See'n,
und so trag' ich's auch nicht länger,
durch die weite Welt zu geh'n.
Muss am heiter'n Abend nieder
von den Heimatbergen schau'n,
heimwärts, heimwärts muss ich wieder
mit dem ersten Morgengrau'n.

Heimwärts mit dem Sängervolke,
von der Sehnsucht Schmerz durchbebt,
heimwärts mit der dunkeln Wolke,
die am hohen Himmel schwebt,
heimwärts mit des Baches Wellen,
die durch Tälergründe flieh'n;
auf, ihr wandernden Gesellen,
lasst uns heimwärts, heimwärts zieh'n!
