Voll Blüten steht der Pfirsichbaum,
Nicht jede wird zur Frucht,
Sie schimmern hell wie Rosenschaum
Durch Blau und Wolkenduft.

Wie Blüten gehn Gedanken auf,
Hundert an jedem Tag --
Laß blühen! laß dem Ding den Lauf!
Frag nicht nach dem Ertrag!

Es muß auch Spiel und Unschuld sein
Und Blütenüberfluß,
Sonst wär die Welt uns viel zu klein
Und Leben kein Genuß.

Le pêcher est couvert de fleurs,
Toutes ne deviendront pas fruit,
Elles brillent avec éclat, écumes de roses,
Sur l'azur et la course des nuages.

Comme les fleurs, des pensées éclosent,
Cent par jour,
Qu'elles fleurissent ! Que des choses arrivent !
N'exigeons pas de récolte !

Il doit y avoir à la fois jeu et innocence,
Et opulence de fleurs,
Sinon le monde nous serait bien trop petit,
Et la vie ne serait pas jouissive.
