Ich bebe dann, entglimme
Von allzu rascher Glut:

quina mena de criatura encisadora
parla per la teva boca!

Tantes paraules arriben
a les nostres orelles sense propòsit,
i quan es deixen de sentir,
tot s’ha acabat!

Però si des de la llunyania
m’arriba el so de les teves paraules,
les escolto tant de grat,
i difícilment les oblido.

I llavors tremolo, inflamat
en excés d’una rabent ardor:
el meu cor i la teva veu
s’entenen prou massa bé!
