Lachts keine Ruh
Mir Jüngling zu,
Siehts meine Wange blaß,
Mein Auge thränennaß.

Bald, lieber Freund,
Ach, bald bescheint
Dein Silberschein
Den Leichenstein,
Der meine Asche birgt,
Des Jünglings Asche birgt!

cap jovencell em somriu
serenament,
veu només les meves pàl·lides galtes
i els meus ulls plens de llàgrimes.

Aviat, estimada amiga,
ai! aviat la teva llum d’argent
il·luminarà
la làpida
que enclourà les meves cendres,
