Abendlied
 (Sung text for setting by F. Hiller)
 Matches original text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Längst schon flog zu Nest der Vogel,
Zwitschert leis im Traume fort;
In den abgebroch'nen Tönen
Klingt ein wunderliebes Wort:
Daheim.

Heerden ziehn an mir vorüber,
Suchen ihren Ruheort;
In dem trauten Klang der Glocken
Ruft ein wunderliebes Wort:
Daheim.

Vor mir in dem stillen Grunde
Zieht ein blauer Rauch sich fort,
Mahnt zur Eil'. Im blauen Dufte
Lockt ein wunderliebes Wort:
Daheim.
