  Dort im Dorf der Haide;
Hatt' nicht Brot dabei,
  Starben alle Beide.

Grub die eine ein
  Unter Gartenblüthen,
Und die Liebste mein
  Mir in Herzensmitten.

Gieß' das eine Grab
  Nun mit Donaufluthen,
Und auf's andre Grab
  Laß mein Herz ich bluten.
