On pressent encore à peine la lumière du soleil,
Les cloches du matin
N'ont pas encore retenti dans la sombre vallée.
Comme est calme le grand espace de la forêt !
Les oiseaux ne gazouillent qu'en rêve,
Aucun chant ne s'est élevé.
Longtemps j'étais resté dans les champs
Et j'avais déjà imaginé ce chant,
Et je l'ai chanté à pleine voix.
