Ihn rühmt der Erdkreis, ihn preisen die Meere;
  Vernimm, o Mensch, ihr göttlich Wort!

  Den kleinsten Staub fühllos beschaun? 
Durch wen ist alles? O gib ihm die Ehre! 
  Mir, ruft der Herr, sollst du vertraun. 

Mein ist die Kraft, mein ist Himmel und Erde; 
  An meinen Werken kennst du mich. 
Ich bin's, und werde sein, der ich sein werde,

Hun galm plant ver zijn glorie voort.
Hem roemt de aardbol, hem prijzen de zeeën;
Verneem , o mens, hun godd’lijk woord!

Kunt gij de veelheid van planten en dieren,
De kleinste cel zien onberoerd?
Door wie bestaat dit? O, wil Hem dus eren!
“Ik”, roept de Heer, “heb ’t uitgevoerd.

Ik heb de krachten, draag hemel en aarde;
Mijn werken tonen mijn beleid.
Ik ben en zal zijn de eeuwige waarde,
Uw God en Vader voor altijd.

Ik ben uw Schepper, ben wijsheid, meedogen,
Een God van ord’ning en bestaan;
