legt ab das rothe Schrecken eures Laufs.
Empfangt den fallenden Führer!
Er komme aus einem entfernten Land,
oder er steig aus dem tobenden Meer!
Sein Kleid von Nebel sey nah,
sein Speer aus einer Wolke gestaltet.
Sein Schwert ein erlosch'nes Luftbild,
Und ach sein Gesicht sey lieblich,
Daß seine Freunde frolocken in seiner Gegenwart!
O beugt euch aus euren Wolken nieder!
ihr Geister meiner Väter, beuget euch.

Gij, geesten van mijn vaderen, buig u neer!
Neem weg de rode dreiging van uw gang.
Ontvang de vallende leider,
Hetzij hij komt uit een heel ver land
Hetzij hij rijst uit de kolkende zee!
Zijn nevelkleed zij nabij,
Zijn speer uit een wolk vervaardigd,
Zijn zwaard een gedoofde dwergster,
En ach, zijn gelaat zij lieflijk,
Zodat zijn vrienden verheugd zijn in zijn aanwezigheid.
O, buig u vanuit uw wolken neder,
Gij, geesten van mijn vaderen, buig u neer!
