Auf dem See
 (Sung text for setting by H. Weber)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE ITA NOR SPA
Und frische Nahrung, neues Blut
Saug' ich aus freier Welt;
Wie ist Natur so hold und gut,
Die mich am Busen hält!
Die Welle wieget unsern Kahn
Im Rudertakt hinauf,
Und Berge, wolkig himmelan,
Begegnen unserm Lauf.

Aug', mein Aug', was sinkst du nieder?
Goldne Träume, kehrt ihr wieder?
Weg, du Traum! so Gold du bist;
Hier auch Lieb' und Leben ist.

Auf der Welle blinken
Tausend schwebende Sterne,
Weiche Nebel trinken
Rings die thürmende Ferne;
Morgenwind umflügelt
Die beschattete Bucht,
Und im See bespiegelt
Sich die reifende Frucht.

Op het meer
 (Sung text translation for setting by H. Weber)
 See original
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
En nieuwe krachten, fris nieuw bloed
Zuig ik uit het vrije veld:
Wat is de aarde toch lief en goed,
Die mij aan haar boezem knelt!
Het water wiegt zacht onze boot
In roeiersmaat vooruit:
En bergen, wolkig, hemelhoog,
Begroeten onze schuit.

Oog, mijn oog, wil jij je sluiten?
Gouden dromen, weer aan 't muiten?
Weg, jij droom, jij schitt'rend spook:
Liefd' en leven is hier ook.

Op de golven blinken
Duizend zwevende sterren,
Zachte nevels drinken
Rondom d' hoogten, zo verre.
Morgenwind omwiegelt
De beschaduwde baai,
En in 't meer bespiegelt
't Rijpend fruit zich zo fraai.
