Weite Wiesen im Dämmergrau;
Durch Dämmergrau in der Liebe Land;
ich gehe nicht schnell, ich eile nicht;
mich zieht ein weiches samtenes Band
durch Dämmergrau in der Liebe Land,
in ein blaues, mildes Licht.
Note for stanza 2, line 5: in Strauss's song in the repetition, the line reverts to the original "in ein mildes, blaues Licht".
Composition:
Set to music by Richard Georg Strauss (1864 - 1949), "Traum durch die Dämmerung", op. 29 no. 1 (1895), published 1895 [ voice and piano ], München, Aibl

De larges prairies dans le gris du crépuscule;
Dans le gris crépuscule, au pays de l'amour;
Je ne vais pas vite, je ne me presse pas;
