Den trunkenen Blick, dann will ich weiter gehen 
Und dich vergessen ... Nur in harter Zeit, 
Wenn sich der Sehnsucht Augen rückwärts lenken, 
Wenn meine Seele nach Vergangenem schreit, 
Dann will ich jenes einen Blicks gedenken, 
Des liebeheißen, gütereichen Blicks, 
Der mir im Bann versagenden Geschicks 
Das Herz zu einem schmerzentiefen Glück geweiht.
