Schimmer sich vom See verlor,
Steigen mir Gedächtnisbilder
Aus der Welle Nacht empor.

Malen mir des Kahnes Schwanken
Den gefurchten Pfad entlang,
Als die Morgenlüfte wanken
Zauberischen Liederklang.

Malen mir von Berges Kuppe
Schweifend den ergötzten Sinn
Und die ländlich schöne Gruppe
Um den Herd der Sennerin.

Zieht die Hirtin froh in's Tal,

Elles me peignent le roulis de la barque

Chavirent d'envoutantes chansons.

Elles me peignent la croupe de la montagne
Où avec délice vagabondent mes pensées
Et les belles assemblées champêtres
Autour du troupeau de la vachère.
