A cast‑off favourite

The dewdrops gleam on bright spring flowers 
  whose scent is borne along; 
Beneath the moon the palace rings 
  with sounds of lute and song. 
It seems that the clepsydra
  has been filled up with the sea, 
To make the long long night appear 
  an endless night to me!
