Marienwürmchen

Marienwürmchen, setze dich
Auf meine Hand, auf meine Hand.
Ich tu' dir nichts zuleide.
Es soll dir nichts zuleid' geschehn,
Will nur deine bunten Flügel sehn,
Bunte Flügel meine Freude.

Marienwürmchen, fliege weg,
Dein Häuschen brennt, die Kinder schrein
So sehre, ach so sehre.
Die böse Spinne spinnt sie ein,
Marienwürmchen, flieg hinein,
Deine Kinder schreien sehre.

Marienwürmchen, fliege hin
Zu Nachbars Kind, zu Nachbars Kind.
Sie tun dir nichts zuleide;
Es soll dir ja kein Leid geschehn,
Sie wollen deine bunten Flügel sehn,
Und grüß sie alle beide.

Lieveheersbeestje
(Sung text translation for setting by J. Brahms)
 See original
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Kapoentje lief, kom zitten maar
hier op mijn hand, hier op mijn hand,
Ik doe je niets, waarachtig.
'k Ben net zo braaf als Ot en Sien,
Wil alleen je bonte vleugels zien,
Bonte vleugels, 'k vind ze prachtig.

Kapoentje lief, vlieg vlug maar weg,
Je huisje brandt, je kind'ren zijn
Zo angstig, ach zo angstig.
De boze spin, die is gemeen,
Kapoentje, vriendje, vlieg er heen,
Want je kindjes huilen angstig.

Kapoentje lief, vlieg weg gezwind
naar buurmans kind, naar buurmans kind,
Je hoeft ze niet te mijden.
Ze doen je niets, die Ot en Sien,
Ze willen slechts je bonte vleugels zien,
En groet ze van mij beiden.
