Oben einsam Rehe grasen.
Und wir ziehen fort und blasen,

Jo vull lloar el Mestre
fins que la veu em soni:

Pregonament confús sona el món,
solitaris pasturen allà dalt els cabirols.
I nosaltres anem i toquem el corn
perquè ressoni mil vegades: 
Adéu,
adéu, tu, bell boscatge!

Tot allò que en silenci hem lloat al bosc,
ho volem també preservar lleialment a fora,
els avantpassats restaran eternament fidels,
