Da geht ein Bach das Tal entlang,
wohin er wohl nur will? 
So geht mein Herz den ganzen Tag
und steht nicht eimal still. 

Das steht erst an der Mühle still;
das Rad dreht sich herum. 
Da steht es mir auf einmal still,
sag an, mein Herz, warum? 

Das steht nicht still den ganzen Weg,
das wird nicht einmal matt. 
und geh' ich erst den Weg herauf,
so klopft es wie ein Rad. 

Das Rad, das dreht, die Mühle geht,
und drinnen tönt Gesang,
komm' ich, so guckt ein Kopf heraus,
läßt mich nicht warten lang.
