Sommer i Gurre

Solen er til Hvile, den slukte sit Lys;
Dagen vil sove.
Engene damper, der gaar som et Gys
Gennem Gurrevangs Skove.
Der sitrer et Minde paa hvert et Blad,
Som bøjer sig, tynget af Duggens Bad;
I Bunterad,
Mens Dampene tættes og skilles ad,
Staa Enge og Minder og Skove.
Og det løfter sig, suget af Glansen fra oven,
Det svulmer som Voven;
Det sænker sig ned,
Og der fødes et Digt
Ved Skovsøens dæmrende Bred.

L'été à Gurre

Le soleil s'est couché, il a éteint sa lumière ;
Le jour va dormir,
La prairie fume, il y a comme un frisson
Qui passe dans la forêt de Gurre.
Un souvenir frémit sur chaque feuille,
Qui se recourbe, alourdie par la rosée ;
Pêle-mêle,
Dans les vapeurs qui s'épaississent et se déchirent,
Il y a prairies et souvenirs et forêt.
Elles se lèvent, aspirées par l'éclat du ciel,
Elles ondulent comme des vagues ;
Elles refluent vers le sol
Et donnent naissance à un poème
Sur la rive crépusculaire de la forêt.
