Vaknar du,
Fäster vid din veka stängel
Blad och knopp,
Och från gruset, som en engel,
Lyftes opp.

Med din doft kring rymden ilar
Fläkten glad,
Fjärilns gyllne vinge vilar
På ditt blad.
Ingen oren vågar kinden
Kyssar ge,
Daggen, ljuset, fjäriln, vinden,
De, blott de.

När, likt plantan i sin sommar
Skön och blid.
Allt det ljuva föds och blommar
Utan strid,
Varför går här sorg och fara
Hand i hand,
Varför får ej jorden vara
Fridens land?

Réveille-toi,
Fixe à ta tige souple
Feuille et bourgeon,
Et du gravier et comme un ange,
Lève-toi.

Avec ton parfum s'envole alentour
Le riant zéphyr,
L'aile jaune du papillon se repose
Sur ta feuille.
Rien d'impur n'ose sur ta joue
Poser des baisers,
Sauf jour, lumière, papillon, vent,
Sauf eux.

Quand, pareil à la plante en son été,
Belle et douce,
Tout ce qui est aimé naît et fleurit
Sans combat,
Pourquoi le chagrin et le danger sont-ils là,
Main dans la main ?
Pourquoi la terre ne pourrait être
Le pays de la paix ?
