Μην βασανίζεσαι Από σκέψεις μελαγχολικές Έλα μαζί μου, ας ανέβουμε στην γόνδολα, Θα βγούμε στην θάλασσα. Θα περάσουμε τα λιμάνια και τα νησιά Που περιστοιχίζουν την πόλη: Ο ήλιος δύει χωρίς σύννεφο, Και το φεγγάρι θα φανεί. Ω! τι γιορτή, ω! τι θέαμα Παρουσιάζει η λιμνοθάλασσα, Όταν όλα σιωπούν, Όταν το φεγγάρι λάμπει στον ουρανό· Και απλώνοντας τα μεταξένια του μαλλιά Πάνω στο νερό που ησυχάζει, Κοιτάζεται στον καθρέφτη και φτιάχνεται, Σαν ερωτευμένη γυναίκα!
