Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Wenn ich durch Busch und Zweig
Brech' auf beschränktem Steig:
Wird mir so weit, so frei,
Will mir das Herz entzwei.
Rings dann im Waldeshaus
Rücken die Wänd' hinaus,
Wölbt sich das Laubgemach
Hoch mir zum Schwindeldach,
Webt sich der Blätter schier
Jedes zur Schwinge mir,
Daß sich mein Herz, so weit,
Sehnt nach Unendlichkeit!

Doch wann [in weitem]1 Raum
Hoch am Gebirgessaum,
Ueber dem Thal' ich steh',
Nieder zum Thale seh'
Ach! wie beschränkt, wie eng
Wird mir's im Luftgedräng;
Rings auf mein Haupt, so schwer,
Nicken die Wolken her,
Niederzustürzen droht
Rings mir das Abendroth,
Und in ein Kämmerlein
Sehnt sich mein Herz hinein!

Contradicció
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
Quan travessant maleses i brancatges
surto d’estrets viaranys,
tot m’esdevé tan extens, tan lliure,
que el cor se’m vol partir en dos.
Llavors a l’entorn d’aquesta llar forestal
els murs es fan enrere,
es vincla damunt meu l’estança de fullatge
formant una teulada d’alçada vertiginosa
Gairebé cada fulla s’entrellaça
creant ales per a mi,
de forma que el meu cor, fins a l’extrem,
anhela la infinitat

Però quan estic en l’ample espai,
a dalt, al voral de la muntanya,
per damunt de la vall
i miro cap a baix,
ai, que limitat, que estret,
tot m’esdevé en l’aire opressiu;
els núvols s’abalancen tan feixugament
al voltant del meu cap,
amenaçant d’estimbar-me
m’envolta la vermellor del capvespre
i en una petita cambra
voldria estar el meu cor.
