by Lev Aleksandrovich Mey (1822 - 1862)

Davidu ‑ Ieremija
Language: Russian (Русский)
     Na rekakh vavilonskikh
My sideli i plakali, bednye,
     Vspominaja v toske i slezakh
     O vershinakh sionskikh:
Tam my ljutni povesili mednye
     Na zelenykh vetvjakh.

     I skazali vragi nam:
"Spojte, plenniki, pesni sionskije".
Net, v zemle nechestivoj, chuzhoj, -
     Po vrazhdebnym dolinam
Ne razdat'sja, syny vavilonskije,
     Nashej pesne svjatoj!

     Gorod gospoda brani,
Moj Shalim svetozarnyj, v zabvenii
     Budet vechno desnica moja,
     I prisokhnet k gortani
Moj jazyk, jesli ja na mgnovenije
     Pozabudu tebja!

     Pomjani, Adonai,
V den' suda - kak `ed'omljane plameni
Predavali tvoj gorod i v plen
     Nas veli, vosklicaja:
"Ne ostavim i kamnja na kameni! "
     O, blazhen i blazhen,

     Zlaja doch' Vavilona,
Kto vozdast tvojej zlobe storiceju,
     Kto mladencev tvoikh otorvet
     Ot nechistogo lona
I o kamen' ikh moshchnoj desniceju
     Pred toboj razob'et!
