En blomma stod vid vägen
af sommarns fjäril kysst,
som troget blef, när flickan
bröt henne af så tyst.
Ty alla mina vänner äro edra;

och flickan satte fjäriln
hos fågeln i en bur,
och genast gjorde fågeln
för fjäriln sin kur.
Ty alla mina vänner äro edra.

Hvit klädning fick så fjäriln,
och så små hvita skor,
och han blef gift med fågeln.
Visst var den äran stor.
Ty alla mina vänner äro edra.

Men skild stod arma blomman
från bröllop och kalas,
och dog af sorg, och vissnade
allena i sitt glas,
sen alla hennes vänner blifvit andras.

Qui resta fidèle quand une fille
La cueillit sans bruit.
Car tous mes amis sont les vôtres.

Et la fille mit le papillon
Dans une cage auprès de l'oiseau,
Et aussitôt l'oiseau
Fit la cour au papillon.
Car tous mes amis sont les vôtres.

Ainsi le papillon reçut un habit blanc,
Et aussi des souliers blancs,
Et se maria avec l'oiseau.
Ce fut là un bien grand honneur.

Mais la pauvre fleur était à l'écart
De la noce et des agapes,
