Vårförnimmelser

Över drivans iskristall
bländar solen vårligt.
Våren själv, som komma skall
kommer ovillkorligt.

Granen skakar av sig snön,
tallen börjar drömma,
och den lilla, djupa sjön
känner källor strömma.

Luften ligger löftesrik
som en sommardager
över frusen insjövik,
lovar och bedrager.

Ännu går ett månvarv om
innan drivan svunnit,
innan gäddan lägger rom,
innan våren vunnit.

Ännu spelar orren öm
ännu bär ej skaren,
fängslad ligger dalens ström
och helt vit är haren.

Men på drivan är det fest,
i demanteglitter
redan på dess bräm som gäst
våren, våren sitter!

Impressions de printemps

Sur les cristaux d'un amas de glace
le soleil du printemps éblouit.
Le printemps lui-même quand il vient,
arrive sans concession.

Le sapin secoue sa neige,
le pin se prend à rêver,
et le petit lac profond
ressent les sources du courant.

L'air est riche de promesses,
pareil à une lumière d'été,
sur la baie gelée du lac,
il promet et déçoit.

Il faudra encore une lunaison
avant que la glace n'ait disparu,
avant que le brochet ne fraye,
avant que le printemps ne triomphe.

Encore une fois le tétras lyre joue tendrement
encore une fois la croûte de neige ne porte plus,
le torrent de la vallée reste emprisonné
et le lièvre est tout blanc.

Mais c'est la fête sur le tas de glace,
dans le scintillement des diamants
déjà sur son rebord, un invité,
le printemps, le printemps est assis !
