Larks [rejoice]¹, lost in dreams.
I lie deep in the heather,
I feel myself to be so born of earth.

Utterly, as if I had grown wildly
Out of clod of earth, like trees,
Rocked lightly by the moor-wind,
Half earth -- and also half dreams.

Utterly, as if from the clod of earth
I had flown up with wings,
Rising high in the summer wind,
Half earth -- and yet half ringing sound.
