Eine Frau für sich alleine stand
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Mittelhochdeutsch
Eine Frau für sich alleine stand,
hielt Ausschau übers weite Land
und harrte ihres Lieben -
sah einen Falken fliegen.
„’s ist gut so, Falke, wie du bist!
Du fliegst dorthin, wonach dir ist:
Du wählst im Walde unter allen
den Baum nach deinem Wohlgefallen.
Desgleichen hab auch ich getan:
Ich wählte selbst mir einen Mann.
Mein Aug’ mocht’ ihn wohl leiden,
was mir die Schönen neiden.
Ach lasst mir doch den Liebsten mein,
fordert' doch euren ich nie ein.“
