Der getreue Eckart
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): DUT ENG FRE
In der finstern Mitternacht
Steht der Ritter auf der Wacht,
Schauet hin nach jeder Seit,
Droht mit seinem Schwerte weit.

Wer auch anzukommen wagt,
Dieses eine sei gesagt:
Dieser Berg ist nicht geheuer,
Drinnen brennt das Höllenfeuer.

Was für süße Töne auch,
Was euch winken schöne Fraun:
Eure Seele muß verderben,
Muß dem Himmel hier absterben.

De getrouwe Eckart
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Midden in de donk're nacht
Staat de ridder waaks op wacht,
Kijkend rond naar alle kant,
't Slagzwaard dreigend in de hand.

Wie hier aan te komen waagt,
Wordt met dit parool belaagd:
Deze berg zal u verlammen,
Binnen branden hellevlammen.

Hoe ook klinkt hier zoete toon,
Hoe ook lokt u vrouw'lijk schoon,
Weet, uw ziel gaat ten verderve,
Zal hier voor de hemel sterven.
