Wenn ich Abschied nehme, will ich leise...
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG
Dankt mir keine Seele, was die meine sprach.

When I take farewell, I shall go softly
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
When I take farewell, I shall go softly,
Press no hand any longer, never look back.
In the loud hall no one shall think on me,
No soul shall thank me for that which my soul spoke.
Outdoors the first light of morning wafts about my brow,
And it comes, the sun, in which I nevertheless believed.
Be riotously noisy among your lamps and forget me quickly!
Extinguish my lamp! -- Soon everything shall be bright.
