Ich werde längst gestorben in dunkler Erde liegen,
Wenn du im Licht noch einmal dem Glücke wirst begegnen.
Geliebte Arme werden sich sorgend um dich schmiegen,
Und deine Lippen werden des Schicksals Walten segnen.
In Sommernächten gehst du vorbei an meinem Grabe
Und weißt nicht, daß ich nah bin und dich gerufen habe;
Ein fernes Wetterleuchten wird durch den Himmel blitzen,
Du wirst in dunklen Träumen auf meinem Hügel sitzen.
