In einem runden Schwung zum Tal.
Oben ist alles noch kahl,
Im Grunde aber blüht Enzian
Und helles Primelgold.

Das rührt mich wie ein Lied
Mit Engelhänden an,
Ist wie ein Mädchenlied so licht und hold.
Schmerzen schweigen, das alte Leid
Sinkt in Traum und Vergessenheit
Für einen Tag,
Für einen Tag im Jahr.

O, es ist wunderbar,
Was der Frühling vermag.
