Die sanfte Wiese flieht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT ENG FRE
Was der Frühling vermag.

The gentle meadow flows
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The gentle meadow flows
In a curved sweep toward the valley.
On high everything is still bare,
In the depths, however, bloom gentians
And the bright gold of primroses.
That touches me with angelic hands
Like a song.
It is as light and lovely as the song of a maiden.
Pains fall silent, the old sorrow
Sinks into dream and oblivion
For one day,
For one day of the year.
Oh it is wonderful
What spring can do.
