Es geht ein alter Weg entlang
An wilden Gärten und einsamen Mauern.
Tausendjährige Eiben schauern
Im steigenden fallenden Windgesang.
 
Die Falter tanzen, als stürben sie bald,
Mein Blick trinkt weinend die Schatten und Lichter.
Ferne schweben Frauengesichter
Geisterhaft ins Blau gemalt.
 
Ein Lächeln zittert im Sonnenschein,
Indes ich langsam weiterschreite;
Unendliche Liebe gibt das Geleite.
Leise ergrünt das harte Gestein.

Un vieux chemin passe
Le long de jardins incultes et de murs solitaires.
Des ifs millénaires frissonnent
Dans le chant du vent croissant et décroissant.

Les papillons dansent, comme s'ils devaient mourir bientôt,
Mon regard s'abreuve en pleurant aux ombres et aux lumières.
Des visages de femmes flottent au loin,
Peintures fantomatiques dans l'azur.

Un sourire tremblote dans la lumière du soleil
Tandis que je poursuis lentement mon chemin ;
Un amour sans fin m'accompagne.
La dure pierre verdit doucement.
