Na rasput'e v dikom drevnem pole
Language: Russian (Русский)
Na rasput'e v dikom drevnem pole
Chjornyj voron na kreste sidit.
Zarosla bur'janom step' na vole,
I v trave zarzhavel staryj shchit.

Na rasput'e ljudi nachertali
Rokovuju nadpis': «Put' prjamoj
Mnogo bed gotovit, i jedva li
Ty po njom vorotish'sja domoj.

Put' napravo bez konja ostavit —
Pobredjosh' odin i sir i nag, —
A togo, kto vlevo put' napravit,
Vstretit smert' v neznajemykh poljakh…»

Zhutko mne! Vdali stojat mogily…
V nikh byloje dremlet vechnym snom…
«Otzovisja, voron chernokrylyj!
Ukazhi mne put' v kraju glukhom.

Ja pokinul ostrov Car'-devicy,
Sine more, terem i sady.
Ne ishchu ja po svetu Zhar-Pticy, —
Ukazhi mne kljuch zhivoj vody!»

Dremlet polden'. Na tropakh zverinykh
Tlejut kosti v travakh. Tri puti
Vizhu ja v zheltejushchikh ravninakh…
No kuda i kak po nim idti?

Gde ravnina dikaja granichit?
Kto, pugaja chutkogo konja,
V tishine iz sinej dali klichet
Chelovech'im golosom menja?

I uzheli net puti inogo,
Gde by mog projti ja, ne gubja
Ni nadezhd, ni schast'ja, ni bylogo,
Ni konja, ni samogo sebja?

Vejet pole tishinoj velikoj!
Mertvecy v mogilakh drevnikh spjat.
Ocharovan krasotoju dikoj,
Opuskaju ja pokorno vzgljad.

I odin ja v pole, i otvazhno
Zhizn' zovjot, a smert' v glaza gljadit…
Chernyj voron sumrachno i vazhno,
Polusonnyj, na kreste sidit.
