Plora damunt el penyal dels vents bramulants,
plora, oh donzella d’Inistore! 
Vincla la teva formosa testa damunt les onades,
tu ets més gràcil que l’esperit de les muntanyes
quan ell a migjorn, en un raig de sol,
llisca damunt el silenci de Morven.
Ha estat abatut, el teu jovencell jau a terra,
pàl•lid, caigué sota l’espasa de Cuthullin.

Trenar, el gentil Trenar és mort,
